CA Helo Pilot Under FAA Investigation For Inflight Tryst

Tape Shows Man At Controls... With Porn Star

A video of airborne sexual escapades made in 2007, but only recently posted on a Hollywood gossip website, has gotten the attention of the Federal Aviation Administration, prompting an investigation.

The San Diego Union-Tribune says the video, first posted by TMZ.com, features pilot David Keith Martz at the controls of a helicopter in flight over San Diego with an amorous passenger... adult video star Puma Swede. Their antics were reportedly brought to the attention of the FAA via an email, but received action only after the video was made available online.

"We're going to review the video. We're going to try to speak to everyone in the video, including the porn star, and we're going to go from there," said FAA Western Region spokesman Ian Gregor. "We probably should have taken a closer look at the evidence when it was first presented to us -- and I can assure you, we're doing that right now."

Martz has run afoul of the FAA several times before. In 1986, his license was revoked for flying with a forged medical certificate. In 2002, he received a 30-day suspension for doing aerobatics below 1,500 feet and over a populated area.

In 2003 Martz again lost his license for landing too close to personnel on the ground at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Finally, the FAA suspended him for 230 days in 2005 for flying passengers in a helicopter he knew was damaged.

More recently, a helicopter flown by Martz was forced to land at Van Nuys Airport on February 1, after allegedly coming too close to a helicopter operated by the Los Angeles Police Department. As ANN reported, Martz's passenger on that flight was rock drummer Tommy Lee, for whom Martz flies regularly.
