L-3 Avionics Systems has appointed Jay LaFoy as President of
the company, which is part of L-3 Communication’s Aviation
Products business area. In this role, Mr. LaFoy will oversee all
aspects of the L-3 Avionics Systems business, which is a leading
supplier of avionics products for the general aviation, business
jet, military and commercial air transport markets. Mr. LaFoy will
report to Kris Ganase, president of the L-3 Aviation Products
business area.
Mr. LaFoy has over 25 years of aviation industry experience in
the areas of operations, manufacturing and MRO. He joined L-3
Avionics Systems in 1996 as the director of operations and he has
held a variety of increasingly responsible positions there,
including managing the Florida MRO business, and most recently
serving as executive vice president. Prior to that, he held
management positions at Goodrich Aerospace.
“Jay is results-oriented and has become a valued
contributor to L-3,” said Mr. Ganase. “We look forward
to him leading Avionics Systems.”
Mr. LaFoy holds an associate degree in business management from
Champlain College. In 1992 he completed an Executive Education
Program at the University of Michigan Business School.
L-3 Avionics Systems provides a wide array of avionics
technologies designed to improve situational awareness and enhance
safety, such as the GH-3000 electronic and J.E.T. standby
instruments, the SkyWatch Collision Avoidance System, the
Stormscope Weather Mapping System, the SmartDeck Integrated Flight
Controls and Display System and the new Trilogy Electronic Standby
Instrument, among
others.
