AeroSports Update: Van’s RV-12 Now With Garmin G3X Touch

The Garmin G3X Touch System Updates The Already Popular RV-12 LSA

Van’s Aircraft and Garmin have announced the availability of G3X Touch in the Van’s RV-12. The G3X Touch system seamlessly blends the use of familiar buttons and knobs and puts flight information right at your fingertips. Orders are now open for both experimental kits and certified factory built RV-12’s.

The Garmin options for the RV-12 include either single or dual displays with split screen functionality and a number of interface options, including integrated two-axis autopilot, ADS-B traffic and weather, SiriusXM aviation weather and more.

The G3X Touch suite in the RV 12 offers pilots a state-of-the-art avionics package. Incorporating the latest in infrared touchscreen technology, the display offers a resilient, high-resolution, sunlight readable screen. The touchscreen provides a simple user interface, which is easy to learn and offers efficient access to information. The bezel contains four dedicated buttons and two rotary knobs, which provide increased efficiency in performing common in-flight functions like direct-to navigation, setting altitude, changing heading or radio tuning.

This well-equipped avionics suite includes a number of features which come standard with the G3X Touch system, including:

  • Synthetic Vision (SVX)
  • Built-in WAAS GPS receiver
  • Connext wireless cockpit connectivity
  • Terrain/Obstacle alerting
  • Geo-referenced Garmin FliteCharts terminal procedures
  • SafeTaxi airport diagrams
  • Interactive mapping
  • Video Input and more!

Van’s Aircraft continues to offer an all-American S-LSA that is affordable to buy, economical to operate, and fun to fly. With the new G3X system, Van’s can offer pilots an even greater array of options to enhance their piloting experience.
