Space Station Astronauts Open NASDAQ Trading

American ISS Astronauts Treated To Singular Honor

It's been quite a few days for the space program and, in particular, two NASA astronauts who rode the SpaceX Crew Dragon to Orbit and docking this week, making history and restoring national pride in the US Space program.

Darlings of the media, and feted worldwide, one of the latest honors for these men, as well as their American ISS crew mate was to get the nation's business off to a solid start on Tuesday.

NASA astronauts Robert Behnken, Douglas Hurley and Chris Cassidy appeared on Nasdaq’s large television screen above Times Square in New York on June 2, 2020. The three astronauts, part of the International Space Station’s Expedition 63 crew, rang the ship’s bell onboard the station to open the day’s trading.

Behnken and Hurley arrived at the station on May 31, a day after becoming the first NASA astronauts to launch on a commercial rocket. The launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon spacecraft marked the return of human launches from U.S. soil to the space station for the first time since the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011.

We're fairly sure that this is not the last time you'll be seeing this crew taking on a few new roles from orbit.
