Cirrus Aircraft 'Loses Control' Of The Cirrus Jet

CAIGA Merger Impacts SF50 Program

By John Ylinen

During Monday's Cirrus Aircraft news conference at AirVenture, President and CEO Brent Wouters announced, while responding to a question, that the Cirrus SF50 Jet had to be moved to Williams International HQ until the engine is certified to be owned, and controlled by, China.

Mr. Wouters also said this would not impact the SF50 development schedule since all flight testing on the prototype had been completed. However, no updates to the Jet program were released.

He said the first indications would be job postings to bring back key skills that had been eliminated during the economic downturn. The last Cirrus update on the jet program to the public was October 2010 and is posted on their web site.
