CMC Electronics SureSight Certified By Transport Canada

System To Provide Better Weather Imaging

CMC Electronics Inc. announces that its SureSight I-series Enhanced Vision System infrared (EVS-IR) sensor was certified by Transport Canada in late December 2004. The CMC EVS sensor received the Transport Canada Appliance Type Certificate AP-55.

According to CMC's Bruce Bailey, Vice President, Commercial Aviation, "Our SureSight l-series EVS sensor provides outstanding image quality and weather penetration, and will allow operators to take advantage of the new FAA regulations provided for enhanced landing capabilities as well as enhanced safety. This sensor is aimed at the high-end corporate/business jet, air transport and military markets for use with a HUD, a Head Down Display (HDD) or both.

The CMC Electronics SureSight l-series EVS sensor has been selected for the Bombardier Enhanced Vision System for installation on the new ultra long-range Global Express XRS, and as an option on the Global Express and Global 5000.  Certification by Transport Canada and the US Federal Aviation Administration of the Bombardier Enhanced Vision System is anticipated to be received in the first quarter of 2005. The sensor will be integrated with the Thales HUD as part of the Bombardier EVS.

The CMC EVS sensor was also recently selected by Rockwell Collins for the Boeing Business Jets' and the Dassault Falcon business jet fleet's Enhanced Vision System. CMC's EVS sensor will be integrated with the Rockwell Collins Flight Dynamics' HGS-4860/5860 Head-Up Guidance System and offered to all future Dassault Falcon 2000EX, 900EX, 900DX and 7X operators. CMC will provide its EVS sensor to Rockwell Collins for all current and future BBJs and next-generation B737 aircraft.
