Boeing Worker Injured In Towing Accident

Was Trapped Under The Landing Gear Of A 787

A Boeing worker at Paine Field was injured late last week when a JAL 787 being towed ran over him, trapping him underneath the plane's landing gear.

The Seattle Post Intelligencer reports that the unidentified employee was eventually freed from under the airplane and flown by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center. He was treated for leg injuries, and his condition is listed as "serious."

A Boeing spokeswoman said in a prepared statement that the company would not speculate on how the accident occurred. Elizabeth Fischtziur said the accident was the subject of an internal investigation, and the company would "implement the necessary changes to avoid a future re-occurrence."
