Five Dead In Forest Service Accident

Single Engine Aircraft Down Near Glacier National Park

Recovery teams hoped Wednesday to retrieve the bodies of five people -- four of them employees of the US Forest Service -- from the site where their single engine aircraft went down in the Glacier National Park two days earlier.

The aircraft, a Cessna 206G, departed Kalispell (MT) at about 1500 local on Monday, according to local news reports. The aircraft was last heard from about 15 minutes later and went down in rough weather.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Pilot Jim Long, 60, of Kalispell (MT)
  • Ken Good, 58, of Whitefish (MT), who worked at the Flathead National Forest
  • Jodee Hogg, 23, Billings (MT)
  • Davita Bryant, 32, Whitefish (MT)
  • Matthew Ramige, 29, Jackson (WY)
