NBAA '04: Meteorlogix Introduces MxVision AviationSentry Online

Provides Pilots With Dynamic Data Layering, “Future” Radar Capabilities And Real-Time Display Of Av Data

Meteorlogix has announced the introduction of MxVision AviationSentry™ Online at NBAA 2004. The fully featured pilot briefing system will soon be QICP certified (Qualified Internet Communication Provider) and provides a wide range of weather graphics and innovative flight planning tools. This new service, which can be delivered through a high speed Internet connection, allows pilots to receive complete briefings, file flight plans and remain up-to-date on changing weather conditions. Pilots can even check last minute conditions wirelessly from the cockpit before take-off.

With MxVision AviationSentry Online, pilots are able to see all relevant data in one location, conveniently displayed for intelligent decision-making. The new product introduces dynamic layering, providing a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) patented capability. Through this delivery format, pilots may build a base map containing important layers such as airports, navaids, airways and more. They then have the ability to plot relevant weather layers such as radar, sigmets and airmets on top of the custom maps they just created. This dynamic display of information will allow for accurate and safe flight planning, while improving overall productivity and efficiency.

Pilots will now able to access Future Radar on the new MxVision AviationSentry Online, a forward loop of radar imagery which allows them to see where dangerous storms will be up to 90 minutes into the future and make plans for the best route.

MxVision AviationSentry Online also carries a full suite of briefing tools including Route Brief, Airport Brief and Quick Plan that pilots need to plan safe, efficient flights. Route Brief allows pilots to quickly gather all route-pertinent text information from departure to destination nationwide.

Airport Brief is a quick and easy way to access METARS, TAFS, Notams and more for local flights. Quick Plan allows pilots to get headings, estimated time en route and fuel burn for their trip.

“Meteorlogix is committed to offer aviation professionals innovative, reliable tools to make flight planning fast and accurate,” said Robert Gordon, chief executive officer, DTN. “With the new MxVision AviationSentry Online, pilots have virtually unlimited access to real-time radar, text and graphics in an easy-to-use format.”
