It’s a big day for those of you looking for a break in the cost of adopting the benefits of ADS-B. Today; the FAA’s Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) rebate website goes live at www.faa.gov/go/rebate, and general aviation aircraft owners will have the opportunity to apply for a $500 rebate to help offset the cost to equip eligible aircraft in a timely manner, rather than waiting to meet the mandatory equipage date. We have received a report that the U.S. Navy has completed a Manual of the Judge Advocate General investigation into the cause of the June 02, 2016 crash of Blue Angel number-6 in Smyrna, Tennessee. This is the mishap that resulted in the death of Marine Captain, Jeff Kuss, and the destruction of the aircraft. A University of Maryland student team has once again achieved an aviation first; this time by successfully lifting a helicopter and passenger through the sole use of solar power. In the fall of 2013, a student team, named the ‘Gamera Team,’ successfully flew a human powered Helicopter. This flight was inspired by the American Helicopter Society’s Sikorsky Prize. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
