AZ Aviation Students Can Now Apply For 2011 Angel MedFlight Scholarship

Award Is $3,000 Toward A Relevent Program At An In-State School

Arizona students are now welcome to apply for the 2011 Angel MedFlight Scholarship for Excellence in Aviation. The college scholarship winner will receive $3,000 towards tuition for a relevant program at an Arizona college or university. Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance will award this college scholarship in August.

This is the second year that air medical transportation leader Angel MedFlight will offer the college scholarship. In 2010, Angel MedFlight established the scholarship in conjunction with the Arizona Business Aviation Association (AZBAA) to promote leadership and resourcefulness in students pursuing a degree in an aviation-related program at an Arizona college or university. Andrew Cochran, an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science, received the 2010 scholarship.

“We were honored to award last year’s scholarship to such an exemplary recipient as Drew,” says Angel MedFlight President and CEO Jeremy Freer, "We are pleased to once again partner with the AZBAA to offer the 2011 scholarship. Angel MedFlight has always been committed to excellence through innovation. We believe that success depends not only on intelligence, but also on initiative, creativity and perseverance. This scholarship rewards individuals who demonstrate the tenacity to rise above challenging circumstances in their career pursuits.”

Applicants must prepare a three-minute video biography addressing the following items: the importance of an aviation career to them, a description of a situation in which they overcame adversity, and improvements they would like to see in Arizona’s aviation industry. Candidates should submit the video biography along with a completed and signed application, résumé and two letters of recommendation. All applications must be postmarked by June 30 to be considered for the 2011 award.
