PS Engineering WIll Supply Cockpit Audio Controls For Apex
PS Engineering says Honeywell has
chosen it to provide the audio control for Honeywell’s Apex
integrated cockpit avionics suite.
The contract provides for the development and production of the KMA
29 Audio Control Panel, with production parts delivery beginning in
2005.
"The KMA 29 can be either a single or dual installation, and
will offer PS Engineering, Inc.'s patented IntelliVOX for a 6-place
intercom and stereo music inputs," said PS Engineering President
Mark Scheuer. "This design is a culmination of the best engineering
efforts and intense customer input- which took more than a year's
worth of discussion. In the end we have a product that meets the
customers' current and future requirements, based on a solid
foundation of our experience with audio control and crew
communications."
In addition to the stereo intercom,
the KMA 29 will accommodate five communications transceivers, with
split capability, and including a duplex mode for AirCell or other
telecommunications system. PS Engineering will design, test and
certify the KMA 29, and be the TSO approval holder/manufacturing
company under a seven-year contract.
"Honeywell provided the human interface engineering," continued
Scheuer, "so the KMA 29 will be seamlessly integrated with the Apex
look and feel. We brought the audio control protocols that we have
perfected, and we worked together on the packaging. This was a team
effort."
