For those of us in the Aero-News business, we have nothing but
thanks and gratitude for companies like Avidyne... who not only
keep making news... but making good news! And that, folks, is a
pleasant change from much of that we've had to deal with over the
past many months.
A few days ago, Avidyne rolled out an Entegra Release 9
Integrated Flight Deck (R9) upgrade program for Piper PA-46
Meridian, Mirage, and Matrix aircraft... and ANN did what we
usually do... climbed on board and flew it. The company debuted the
first Entegra R9-equipped Piper PA-46 Matrix at the Cirrus Owners
and Pilots Association Migration (COPA M8) event last month in
Dayton, Ohio.
Avidyne has made their intentions, for the foreseeable future,
quite clear... "The PA-46 represents an ideal step-up airplane for
the Cirrus owner looking for enhanced performance and more cabin
space," said Avidyne Chief Operating Officer Patrick Herguth. "The
ability to get a cabin-class PA-46 aircraft with an Avidyne R9
suite makes it an even more attractive option for the thousands of
existing PA-46 and Cirrus owners who prefer Avidyne's avionics
design philosophy and overall ease of use."
"Avidyne's Entegra Release 9 suite is a very attractive upgrade
for many of our customers who are purchasing both new and used
PA-46's," said Mike Borden, of High Performance Aircraft in El
Cajon, California.
"We just sold two more PA-46s, a new Entegra-equipped Meridian
and a Matrix, that include an Avidyne coupon which allows PA-46
customers to upgrade to the Release 9 package for only $50,000.
It's a very attractive option that allows my clients to get new
Piper with the next generation of Avidyne avionics."
