Source: Art LaFlamme, senior air safety coordinator with the Air Line Pilots Association and former director general of civil aviation with Transport Canada, speaking on the Canadian government's plan to mandate installation of traffic collision avoidance systems (TCAS) on all commercial aircraft in that country by the end of the year. The program is expected to cost Canadian airlines an estimated $39 million.
