Express Aircraft Company, LLC. (EAC) has conducted the
successful first flight of their new Series 2000RG model
aircraft.
Piloted by Mr. Larry Olson, EAC President, the Series 2000RG
took off January 17th, 2003, at 1400 PST, flying the test plan for
approximately forty-eight minutes. The flight was a success and all
items on the flight test plan were completed.
This aircraft is powered with a Pratt &
Whitney PT6A-20 turbine engine production 550hp. The turbine engine
is an option along with either a Continental TSIO-550 or a Lycoming
TSIO-540. The aircraft is very well equipped, the chic panel sports
a dual Chelton Synthetic EFIS system, a full UPS Aviation center
stack, an S-Tec 55x autopilot system, and a Kenwood CD Player with
Sirius Satellite Radio.
EAC manufactures two high-performance four-place kit aircraft;
the fixed tricycle gear Series 2000FT and the retractable gear
Series 2000RG. Pricing on the FT kit is $48,900 and the RG kit is
$62,500. Both aircraft have 140 gallons of fuel capacity, the
FT cruises at 200mph and the RG is projected to cruise at 300mph.
EAC claims that the Express is the most spacious aircraft in its
class and is a true four-place in both space and useful load.
Express Aircraft also believes it has revolutionized the kit
aircraft industry with their Builder Assist and Factory Finish
programs. The Builder Assist program lets the builder complete over
51% of their construction at the EAC factory in just three-two week
sessions. The Factory Finish program completes an aircraft to a
turn-key product after the builder is has completed the Builder
Assist program.
