Continental Takes Proactive Approach Ahead Of Looming Hurricane

Says Customers May Rescheduled Without Penalty

Continental Airlines announced Thursday travel options for customers whose flight plans may be affected by Tropical Storm Gustav, which is expected to develop into a major hurricane over the weekend, with the US Gulf Coast squarely in its sights.

Weather conditions may force some delays and cancellations of flights to selected cities in the Caribbean and Gulf Coast regions through next week. Continental advises travelers should visit the airline's Web site for a list of affected cities.

Customers booked on flights to/from applicable airports will be permitted a one-time date or time change to their itinerary without penalty for rescheduled travel. If a flight has been canceled, a refund in the original form of payment may be requested.

To make changes, customers should enter their confirmation number and last name in "Manage Reservations." Customers may also call Continental Airlines reservations at 800-525-0280 or their travel agent. Automated flight status information is also available at 800-784-4444.
