Skyborne Launches Sponsored Flight Instructor Program

Six-Week Course Will Lead To Positions As Single-Engine Flight Instructors

Skyborne Airline Academy is launching a Sponsored Flight Instructor Program to foster the next generation of airline pilot instructors in Spain.

Over six weeks participants will complete 35 flying hours and 130 hours of theory training. Those who successfully complete the program will go on to work as Single Engine Flight Instructors with Skyborne. Positions are available at Castellón Airport, Skyborne’s fair-weather training base located on the Mediterranean coast.

"We know that flight instructors are the backbone of the aviation industry, especially as the global demand for pilots continues to rise. That’s why we are launching this scheme to find the very best teaching talent for our academy, while giving newly qualified pilots the opportunity to build their flying hours before they go on to fly or teach with the world’s leading airlines," said Ian Cooper, Chief Operating Officer, Skyborne.

“The value of the training included in this sponsored program is worth more than £10,000 (approx. $12,600) and, subject to satisfactory performance, comes with the added value of a full-time position with Skyborne at the end of the six-week training period.”

Upon successful competition of the Sponsored Flight Instructor Program, Skyborne will offer a competitive salary and bonus package, including generous annual leave allowance, pension, bonus scheme and health insurance.

In order to apply candidates must hold a current first series EASA Commercial Pilot Licence, including Instrument Rating, and a Class 1 Medical certificate. They must also have a minimum 80% or higher pass rate from their ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Examination.

The deadline for applications for the first Skyborne Sponsored Flight Instructor Program is Friday June 14th.
