AeroMobil 'Flying Car' To Be Unveiled In Vienna

Will Be Featured At Pioneers Festival On October 29

Is this finally the end of the wait for a "flying car" ... roadable airplane ... or what ever you might want to call it?

AeroMobil says it will unveil its a prototype of the most recent version of its "flying roadster" ... which the company calls "the world's most advanced flying car," on October 29 at the Vienna Pioneers Festival in Austria.

An earlier prototype of the roadable aircraft flew last October, and the U.K. newspaper The Guardian reports that the company plans to fly this prototype the day before it is set to be unveiled at the high-tech exhibition.

Company founder Juraj Vaculik told the paper that the prototyping process on the two-seat aircraft/automobile was accelerated after "enthusiastic reactions of the global engineering and design community."

At least one other company, Terrafugia, is competing in the roadable aircraft space, but recently announced that it was still two years away from finishing its first production aircraft, according to the paper. Terrafugia has also flown a prototype. The Maverick flying car is different in that it uses a canopy for lift rather than rigid wings.
