Frequent Flyers Rate Alaska Best Overall Program

Best Web Site and Best Redemption Award Program, Too

The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan was named Frequent Flyer Program of the Year at the 15th Annual Freddie Awards yesterday. Alaska's frequent flyer program also received top marks from readers of InsideFlyer magazine for "Best Web Site" (www.alaskaair.com) and "Best Award" (15,000 miles for a 50 percent discount on any published fare).

And if that wasn't impressive enough, Alaska also came in a close second in the balloting in the six remaining categories: "Best Elite Level," "Best Customer Service," "Best Award Redemption," "Best Bonus Promotion," "Best Newsletter" and "Best Affinity Credit Card."

"Wow," said Ann Ardizzone, Alaska's managing director of marketing programs, who accepted the awards Thursday evening in Colorado Springs (CO). "This really is a testament to our belief that everything begins and ends with how we listen to and treat our customers. I'm especially proud to accept this award on behalf of our employees who every day provide friendly, caring service."

Created by InsideFlyer magazine publisher Randy Peterson in 1988, the Freddies are considered among the most prestigious consumer-generated awards in the industry.
