New Rolls-Royce Service Center Opens In Brazil

South American Facility To Include 'On-Wing Care'

This week, Rolls-Royce opened a new On-Wing Care service center in Brazil to support the growing fleet of Rolls-Royce Trent engines in South America.

Co-located with the Rolls-Royce Brazil facility in São Paulo, the new service center will initially provide service support on the Trent 700 for the Airbus A330 and will, over time, extend to support the Trent 1000 for the Boeing 787. Services will include a wide range of specialist line maintenance support, from engine boroscoping to module change.

Brazil's Minister of Defence, Nelson Jobim and Air Force Commander, Brigadier General Juniti Saito, along with other state and local government officials and prominent leaders of the aviation industry, joined Rolls-Royce representatives in a ceremony to officially open the center.

"We are delighted to see a world-class company like Rolls-Royce expand its presence in the region," Jobim said. "The people of Brazil have enjoyed a close relationship with Rolls-Royce for more than 50 years and this latest development only enhances that partnership."

Miles Cowdry, President - Services, Rolls-Royce, added "We are delighted to extend our growing global On-Wing Care service center capabilities to such an important region. Rolls-Royce Brazil has long played a critical role in our aftermarket services for customers in the region and with the On-Wing Care service center we are well positioned to serve the rapidly expanding South American aviation market."

Initial investment in the 3,700 square foot facility exceeds US$1 million and Rolls-Royce expects to invest further on expanding capabilities to include service for additional variants of the Trent engine family, including the Trent XWB.

The Brazil facility is the second new On-Wing Care service center to open this year. In February, Rolls-Royce opened an On-Wing Care service center at Singapore's Changi Airport.

To date, Rolls-Royce has six On-Wing Care service centers across the globe, including: London, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and Indianapolis - all of which support the company's civil aerospace fleet of around 4,000 installed engines.
