Aviation industry veteran Mel Hilderbrand has been named President of S-TEC Corporation. In a statement announcing the appointment, Dr. Richard Greaves, Managing Director of S-TEC's parent company Meggitt Aerospace Systems Division said, "We are very pleased to have Mel move up to the position of President.  S-TEC has a great opportunity for growth, and Mel's talent and experience will be a major contribution to our success," he concluded.

"I am honored to have been given the opportunity to lead this company," Hilderbrand said. "Not only does S-TEC have a world renowned legacy in the General Aviation marketplace," he added, "we are also developing new digital autopilot systems and teaming with other leading manufacturers to provide aircraft manufacturers and aftermarket customers with new solutions for their aircraft."

Prior to his promotion to President of S-TEC, Hilderbrand was the company's Senior Vice President of customer operations. Before joining S-TEC in 2004, he was with Bell Helicopter, Textron. Mel retired from the United States Marine Corp in 1996 after 20 years which included service in Desert Storm.
