PFA Orders Four Additional DA40NG From Diamond Aircraft Canada

All Aircraft To Be Equipped With Austro Diesel Engines

Pilot Flight Academy (PFA) recently announced that they next summer will open a new base at Notodden in Norway, and to support the expansion and the opening of the new base, PFA has ordered four new DA40 NG from Diamond Canada.

CEO of PFA Frode Granlund says it was an easy choice to select the modern DA40 NG Diamond Aircraft. “We already have an all Diamond DA40 NG and DA42 NG fleet, and are very happy with the operational reliability and the low operational costs of these aircraft.

“Furthermore, we do now also see that the environmental advantages with the low noise level and the use of jet fuel with no lead is highly recognized by the airports and the local communities around airports” Granlund added. “Due to the very low noise level, the DA 40 NG has been exempted from all noise restrictions at our main base, and we can now practice landing circuits from 6 AM until midnight, and we expect the same for other airports. That enables a much higher utilization of every aircraft, and that is of course is a huge competitive advantage for us”.

The new DA40NG’s are equipped with efficient, clean and very quiet jet-fuel Austro engines and the new Garmin G1000 NXi glass cockpits. “We are excited about our continued partnership with Pilot Flight Academy in Norway and commend them on their continued strategic growth plan” said Scott McFadzean, COO of Diamond Aircraft Industries Inc. “They continue to exemplify commitment to new technologies and world class flight instruction. We are very proud of our partnership with PFA."
