New Software Simplifies Fuel Pricing For FBOs

Acufuel Uploads Individualized Price Data to Multiple Fuel Programs

Flight planning resource company AC-U-KWIK has rolled out a new "single point of entry" feature of acufuel.com. This new feature allows airport FBO managers who may currently upload fuel prices to dozens of fuel programs and websites to organizing this information in one central spot.

AC-U-KWIK's Acufuel service, through an alliance with aviation software developer FuelerLinx, sends fuel pricing data to over two dozen different fuel information programs and websites used by aviation professionals around the globe. This centralized information network enables participating FBOs to easily setup their fuel cost data, tax breakouts and contract fuel ITP fees in a few simple fields. The rest is straight forward, when fuel prices change, all an FBO manager has to do is update a single cost field and click the system's "broadcast" button. At that moment all of the individualized pricing structures, for each fuel vendor, will be securely sent all at once. All of this program functionality is at no cost to FBOs.

This new service is designed to provide fuel vendors the most current and accurate information possible, and ensure an accurate price is displayed.

"The concept is much like modern social networking tools," said Frank Craven, group publisher of Penton's Business Aviation Division, in a news release Tuesday. "You used to have to post the same updates to your pages at several different networking sites over and over again, until new services allowed you to type your updates once and publish them instantly to all your accounts. Acufuel operates with the same principal: enter your prices once at acufuel.com, and then let the system send the data everywhere it needs to go. It saves managers valuable time and energy."

"It has been our effort to bring FBOs, flight departments, and contract fuel vendors together in one easy to use interface," said FuelerLinx CEO Kevin Moller. "Our intent is to tackle the delays in FBO price updates to vendors and to display critical ramp fees into FuelerLinx software. The Acufuel system will enable FBOs to dispatch real-time and reliable data to the aviation community, far more efficiently than individual disciplines can alone. This kind of collaboration is exciting, and it is unprecedented."

The AC-U-KWIK and FuelerLinx teams say they have created a streamlined process for FBO managers to easily join the Acufuel service at no cost. New participants can quickly sign up for an account at acufuel.com, retrieve welcome information that's quickly emailed to them, and within minutes begin setting up their 100LL and JetA fuel price information.

The frequency of price updates is up to participating FBOs, though users are alerted when fuel prices have not been updated in some time. When pricing is not updated on a regular basis, the system will send auto-generated messages to FBOs reminding them to determine if new price adjustments are needed. This ensures that users have the most current information possible and FBOs are taking full advantage of the free service.
