Scalewings Announces Quicker Fulfillment for Mustang Kit

Carbon Fiber Scaled P-51 Kit Finishes 2nd Year of Production

Over the holiday, Scalewings looked over the year to see how production is coming, and things are looking better than ever.

Despite the youth of the company, the company has managed to complete, ship, and deliver the first 8 of its beautiful P-51 Mustang. While Mustang clones have never been too rare throughout the kit industry, Scalewings managed to impress at this year's Sun n' Fun and EAA Airventure with an impressive level of fit and finish. Despite its composite manufacture, the SW-51 Mustang sports all the same rivets, seams and panels as the original plane - molded into the form itself. The effect is convincing, looking very close to a vintage warbird - the right finishing, of course. The SW-51 will be available as both a kit and a ready-to-fly aircraft, with the company already tackling their order book one after the other.

The performance review showed that Scalewings is picking up speed on their production run of SW-51s, with serials 001 through 008 completed. Next up? Number 007 will be completed to serve as the flagship SW-51, an American demonstrator to show US customers how good the Mustang can be. Numbers 2, 3, and 8 were bound for the USA in kit form, with number 4, a build assist ready-to-fly, delivered to Germany. Number 5 went to Colombia as a kit, and 6 to Poland as a build assist ready to fly aircraft.
