Offers Software Designed To Simplify Preparation And Flight Execution For Pilots
Jeppesen has teamed with AvPlan Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), an iPad-based EFB service, to integrate AvPlan EFB flight planning capabilities with Jeppesen navigation information. For pilots using AvPlan EFB flight planning services, completed flight plans will be able to be entered into the Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck EFB solution on iPad.
This combination of Jeppesen's charting and navigation data with AvPlan EFB flight plan information together simplifies pre-flight preparation for pilots using both Jeppesen and AvPlan EFB services. AvPlan EFB specializes in flight operations services in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. The new service agreement with Jeppesen expands AvPlan EFB service globally and provides a worldwide pre-flight planning and flight execution tool.
"This new service is ideal for pilots who fly using Jeppesen charts, have Jeppesen charts in their panel or want to use AvPlan EFB and its planning, briefing and filing capabilities outside of areas where we offer procedure coverage," said Bevan Anderson, managing director, AvPlan EFB. "This agreement marks an exciting new development that allows pilots to fly on a global scale with less work to do, based on automated processes."
Flight plans developed through AvPlan EFB will soon be able to be exported into Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck. From there, the complete flight plan will be loaded and instrument procedures for airports will be linked to the entered flight plan. Jeppesen navigation and charting data provided through Mobile FliteDeck is derived from its industry-leading global navigation database, and helps pilots safely and efficiently reach their destinations.
"Pilots that use both Jeppesen and AvPlan EFB services will welcome this integration of flight planning and navigation information through Mobile FliteDeck to increase efficiency related to preparation, planning and flight execution," said Scott Reagan, director, Jeppesen OEM Business Development.
