Here It Comes... The 21st Annual International Air Racing History Symposium

And Where Else But Cleveland?

Cleveland, OH -- America's traditional home of pylon and cross-country air racing -- will be the scene of the latest in a series of Air Racing History Symposia which dates back to 1985 and the formation of the Society of Air Racing Historians.

From 1929 through 1949 Cleveland Airport was the site of the biggest air races the world has ever seen, with hundreds of thousands of spectators enjoying an atmosphere that rivaled the Kentucky Derby and the Indianapolis 500.

This year, the event will run April 29 and 30 in the main auditorium of the Holiday Inn-Airport, just a few miles from the historic heart of the sport.  Speakers, slides, videotapes, scale models, paintings, and artifacts will recreate the glorious days of Jimmy Doolittle and Roscoe Turner, as well as the more recent National Championship Air Races at Reno, Nevada, and smaller races throughout the USA and Europe.

One of the additional benefits of the program will be the opportunity to meet and get to know racing pilots and other air racing celebrities who are there to participate or simply to enjoy the weekend.

The public is invited. Admission to all the formal presentations and to the displays is $45.00.  In addition, there will be a banquet Saturday evening, for which the cost will be an additional  $35.00.
