Emirates Annual Cadet Training At CAE Oxford Academy More Than Doubles

Intake Grows To 55 Students For 2015

Emirates Airline is increasing its annual cadet training intake at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy to 55 cadets during 2015. This is more than double the 2014 cadet intake and not only shows Emirates Airline's growing pilot requirements in tandem with its fleet expansion, but also the airline's confidence in CAE Oxford Aviation Academy's cadet training and graduate output.

Emirates Airline selected CAE Oxford Aviation Academy in 2012 with the first cadets commencing training in January 2013. Since then, approximately 50 cadets have started training in Oxford, UK.

Following the successful completion and graduation of its first cadets, Emirates has assessed the quality of the graduates and decided to increase the number of cadets training at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy exclusively.

"This serves to validate the quality of our training program and our experienced instructing team," said Nick Leontidis, CAE Group President, Civil Simulation and Training. "We look forward to continuing to partner with Emirates in 2015 to help meet its pilot requirements for the future."

Since 1992, Emirates National Cadet Pilot Program has trained over 273 Emirati men and women to be commercial pilots; taking Emirates Boeing and Airbus family of aircraft, including the A380, to the skies. 207 UAE Nationals are currently undergoing training at the Emirates Aviation College in Dubai and the Flight Training facility in Spain and the UK. Emirates plans to open the Flight Training Academy, Emirates' dedicated flight training center located at Dubai World Central Airport, which will showcase the industry's most advanced approach to pilot training; meeting the cadet's professional and personal requirements in a fully-integrated facility.
