S-TEC Offers Chelton Autopilot Owners Chance To Swap

Can Upgrade To A New 55X For Less Than $25K, Plus Install

S-TEC Corporation recently extended a special, one-time offer to owners of Chelton autopilot systems, as both companies recently came under the same corporate umbrella.

Owners of Chelton AP-3C Autopilots have the opportunity to exchange their current systems for an S-TEC FiftyFive X System for aircraft where certified, at a significantly reduced price.

Under terms of the offer, S-TEC will replace current Chelton AP-3C autopilots with yellow-tag S-TEC System 55X systems, for a flat exchange fee. For owners of single-engine aircraft, the system cost ranges from $17,890 to $21,675, depending on whether owners select autotrim or not.

For twin owners, the prices are just slightly higher -- from $19,390 to $23,175.

To receive the special pricing, owners must bring their aircraft to the S-TEC facility in Mineral Wells, TX and have the work performed by S-TEC installation technicians.

As ANN reported, S-TEC was acquired by Cobham plc in November 2007... joining other avionics notables such as Chelton Flight Systems and Wulfsberg Electronics under the Cobham Avionics and Surveillance Division.
