We'll Be There To Conduct Interviews And Flight Tests For ANN And The SportPlane Resource Guide
As the potential for FAA's surprise MOSAIC NPRM sinks in for the light and sport aviation community, the Aero-News Network is prepping a team to attend the upcoming MidWest LSA Expo in order to pave the way for even better coverage of the topic... and enjoy one of the more enjoyable sport flying events in the aviation community.
The primary role for the ANN Team will be to conduct interviews and flight tests for the massive new SportPlane Resource Guide (eSPRG)... which appears to have grown from the 1100 pages of its last iteration to over 2000 in the new all-digital format we've adopted for the future. The new format allows for nearly instant updates, all manner of multi-media reports and features, and the chance to serve the SportPlane community more directly and aggressively. No book (or any other media program, that we know of) has ever documented the SportPlane industry as extensively as has the SPRG program in the preceding 30 years of its efforts.
Flight tests will be conducted by ANN CEO Jim Campbell, a graduate of the National Test Pilot School and veteran of countless such flight test efforts... who sees the MWLSA event as a welcome opportunity to do some flying where other larger events have made it all but inadvisable. He notes that, "The MidWest LSA Expo is one of the more laid-back and enjoyable events I've seen... and allows for the kind of safe test and demo flights that I've had to forgo at other events. The event has impressed me with a positive safety attitude and open access to do as much flying as may be possible... and best of all, its just a fun place to work."
Exhibitors with aircraft that may be eligible for evaluation are urged to reach out to the ANN team at jim@aero-news.net to schedule the chance to do either a flight test, an interview or update ANN and the eSPRG team on the most recent developments with their offerings.
The team will also be seeking suggestions and guidance for the 2025 Affordable Flying Expo currently scheduled for early January of 2025. Set in one of the most professional environments in the sport aviation community, the event will offer extensive indoor exhibit space, fast and easy access to flying areas and activities and expert forums and guidance for the sport aviation community--provided by experts and associates that contribute to the SportPlane Resource Guide.
