Farmingdale State
University of New York is moving forward aggressively in its
commitment to raise the barre in flight education, with the recent
purchase of 13 Piper aircraft for delivery later this year. The
purchase was made through New Piper's Authorized Dealer, Columbia
Aircraft Sales in Groton (CT).
"Farmingdale State has made a strong push to offer an
exceptional aviation program to its students," said Gary Saunders,
Manager of New Piper Sales, Columbia Aircraft Sales. "The
university's purchase of these New Piper aircraft is a most
attractive element of the overall package."
Dr. Jonathan Gibralter, President, Farmingdale State, said: "In
maintaining our 90-year heritage of academic excellence, the new
Farmingdale State is pleased to announce that along with our new
logo and new motto, the Farmingdale State University of New York
Department of Aviation will also be welcoming a new fleet of Piper
Aircraft to our family. Only New Piper Aircraft meets the high
demands of northeast flight activities and of our students with
their advanced technology and versatile aircraft. We are happy to
have Piper Aircraft help us to change lives at Farmingdale
State."
Of the 13 aircraft to be delivered to Farmingdale College
between August and December of this year, there are two Piper
Arrows, one Piper Seminole and 10 Piper Warriors. These Piper
aircraft will replace Farmingdale State's existing fleet of
well-used Diamond DA-20 aircraft.
"Preparing for a career in the aviation industry is no simple
task," said Chuck Suma, President and CEO, New Piper Aircraft.
"Technological advances in aircraft and aviation systems are
creating a demand for men and women who possess exacting skills and
expertise. At New Piper we're proud to play an integral role in
helping these men and women meet their goals with what we believe
are the finest aircraft in General Aviation."
