Gone West: Wingwalker Johnny Kazian

Inducted Into The Airshow Hall Of Fame In 2004

ANN has learned of the passing of Airshow Hall of Famer Johnny Kazian, who was known as the Greatest Wingwalker of All Time.

The announcement was made on the Facebook page of Dacy Airshows.

Kazian was inducted into the Airshow Hall of Fame in 2004. In the bio posted on the HOF website, Kazian is described as "the consummate air show business professional who lived for the crowd and played for the camera and audience in a way the impressed everyone."

Kazian performed with such air show legends as Joe Hughes, Jim Franklin, and Dave Dacy. He retired at age 63 following the 1996 air show season.

The Idaho Statesman reports in its obituary section online that Kazian passed away at his home in Kuna, ID near Boise on April 23 at the age of 81. His funeral is planned for Tuesday.
