Ferguson Resigns From Mooney Aircraft Company

Gowen Was Named New CEO Last Month

Dennis E. Ferguson, who headed the Mooney Airplane Company as Chief Executive Officer from September 2006 until last month, has resigned from the aircraft manufacturing company to pursue other interests.

"Dennis Ferguson provided leadership to Mooney through the past two years and helped the company make significant strides in both its operations and its position in the marketplace. We appreciate his service to the company and wish him the best," said new Mooney CEO Robert B. Gowens.

As ANN reported, Ferguson relinquished the role of CEO to Gowens on September 26. At that time, the company maintained Ferguson would remain at Mooney as the company's President.

"Mooney's well-established reputation as the manufacturer of the industry's fastest single-engine piston aircraft provides a foundation upon which we will continue to build. While progress has been made in improving our efficiency, we know that in today's extremely competitive marketplace, it is imperative that we continue to strive for continuous improvement -- that's what industry leaders like Mooney must do. Our management team is energized and we, along with our dealer partners, are excited about the future of Mooney," Gowens added.
