Piper's Spiciest Turboprop Gains More Functionality via STC
The latest iteration of the long-lived Malibu platform - now the Matrix and Meridian - cut a pretty impressive figure upon its recent announcement, offering the same single-engine affordability and family hauling capacity of classic Pipers, with a brand-new Pratt & Whitney PT-6A-52.
With better performance than ever before, operators venturing into flight levels may find it a tad irritating to miss out on using Reduced Vertical Separation Minima. Having RVSM equipment and authorization makes planning and flying easier all around, with more tracks and altitude blocks available to aircraft equipped for it. AeroMech Incorporated will offer an RVSM STC for the M700 Fury, just like it offered for previous M-Models like the Meridian, M500, and M600 in years past. The STC allows Fury operators to get the absolute best out of their birds, flying at higher flight levels, saving fuel, lowering carbon, and avoiding weather with increased operational flexibility. Perhaps best of all, they can cruise in the "express lane" at underutilized eflight levels. Like any good, high-quality STC, it adds a little touch of resale, too.
The AeroMech STC ODA will be issued in the third quarter of 2024, in addition to being made available on new production M700 Furies. Those M700 operators who didn't get an RVSM option, as well as those flying the Meridian and M500/600, can conduct an RVSM installation at AeroMech's Orlando and Nashville bases. AeroMech will send out teams for remote installations, too, in case a plane can't make it down south.
