ANN has breaking news on the FAA's intent to register nearly all the UAVs in North America...
Avidyne Corporation announced that they have received an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate approval of their MK10 Bluetooth keyboard, the first Bluetooth-enable functionality for the IFD440 and IFD540 systems. The MK10 Bluetooth Keyboard allows pilots to wirelessly control their panel-mounted IFD440 or IFD540 system. Activation of Bluetooth functionality requires software Release 10.1.1. for the IDF440 and 540. As a new entry to aviation products, it appears Bad Elf is getting something going with its plan to provide ADS-B receiver portable hardware. In three weeks, Bad Elf has raised just under $154,000 for its ADS-B receiver that is designed to bring weather and traffic information into the cockpit through nearly every electronic flight bag app on the market. A Kuwait Airways pilot has reportedly had his license revoked after allowing an ex-porn star to visit the cockpit during a flight from London to New York's JFK airport two years ago. The Washington Post reports that actress Chloe Khan, a
British citizen, said the pilot, who was not named, invited her and a friend into the cockpit during the flight, smoking cigarettes and offering his guests champagne. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
