NBAA Adds Durwood Heinrich To Regional Staff

Experienced Professional Strives To Serve Industry He Loves.

The National Business Aviation Association announced Tuesday that Durwood Heinrich has been selected to be the regional representative for the Central Region. Heinrich is a veteran pilot and advocate of business aviation.

Heinrich was the Chief Pilot and Director of Aviation for Texas Instruments for many years.  He looks upon this position as an opportunity to give back to the aviation community. "I really love this industry," said Heinrich. Some of his goals are to help NBAA expand its membership, to maintain and create access to airports and to establish relationships with members and political parties.

You may find him traveling all over his territory that includes Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio and Wisconsin. He spoke highly of regional organizations helping to protect the interests of local aviation businesses. "CABAA [Chicago Area Business Aviation Association] is an excellent example of an organization coming to the forefront to address air traffic control and airport access issues."

"My experience in the industry helps me to see both sides of the issues," said Heinrich.  He has experience dealing with operator, customer service, regulatory and safety issues.

"Across the country, a voice is needed when policies are being developed that impact access to airports and airspace, operational safety, and aviation security for business aircraft operators," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen in a news release. "NBAA and its Regional Representatives have long provided that voice for our Members at the Federal, state, local, and municipal levels. I am pleased that we are strengthening our advocacy efforts by expanding the Regional Representative Program, and I'm delighted that Durwood Heinrich has been selected as Representative for the Central Region."

NBAA now has six regional representatives based around the country to build working relationships and to provide support for operators of business aircraft. Heinrich said, "The most exciting things are working with a group of professionals that I have a lot of respect for and working out in the industry from a political and legislative perspective."
