Mooney International Is Granted Validated Type Certificate From CAAC

Country's First New M20 Acclaim Set For Delivery

Mooney International is set to deliver the first M20TN Acclaim Type S aircraft with a Chinese National Registration, (“B”) number, to its owner in China at the end of December.  Mooney officially received the Validation of Type Certificate (VTC) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on Dec. 9, 2014 and this will allow Mooney International to directly export aircraft to China making it easier for Chinese customers to own and operate a new Mooney.

“CAAC’s approval of the M20TN Acclaim and M20R Ovation models is excellent news for Mooney International and prospective customers in China,” said Mooney CEO Jerry Chen. “The Acclaim and Ovation are perfect for the emerging Chinese personal aircraft market as they deliver turboprop speed with piston engine efficiency and cost.”

Two Mooney aircraft residing in China’s Henan Province have been flying demonstration and exhibition flights on their U.S. “N” registration numbers. News of the newly granted VTC means the Mooney aircraft can now be registered under China’s “B” numbers. The third, a new production aircraft, is due to arrive at Mooney’s partner company, Henan Soaring in Shangjie this month. The VTC approval will make this aircraft the country’s first official “B” registered Mooney M20TN Acclaim Type S. This aircraft is finding an enthusiastic following inChina and has already been sold to its new owner and will be based in Zhengzhou.

Mooney International sales representatives provide local service in China for the Acclaim Type S and the Ovation3, and are located in Beijing led by Vice President of Sales Peter Claeys. According to Mr. Claeys, “There is certainly a large potential market for high performance personal and training aircraft in the world’s most populous country, and our Chinese office, known as Mooney Beijing, can now offer world class flight operations for a wide range of Chinese customers including small to medium size companies.”

The Mooney Acclaim Type S and the Ovation3 both feature Continental engines, Garmin G1000 Avionics, and GFC700 Flight Control Systems. All of which are supported internationally at hundreds of service centers including in China.
