GAMA: Swanda to Take Over For Bolen For Now

GAMA has announced that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Ed Bolen, will be leaving the association to assume the top post at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) effective September 7. Ron Swanda, GAMA's Senior Vice President of Operations, will manage the association's day-to-day affairs until the Board of Directors names a new President and CEO.

Bolen joined GAMA in 1995 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. He was named President and CEO of the association in 1996.

"Ed Bolen has been a tremendously effective leader" said GAMA Chairman Clay Jones. "While GAMA will miss Ed's leadership, we are pleased that he will continue to serve the general aviation community in his new role."

Ron Swanda joined GAMA in 1982 after a distinguished career in the United States Air Force. He is widely recognized in the United States and in international aviation circles as a leading expert on general aviation operations.

"I had the opportunity to work closely with Ron when I chaired GAMA's Flight Operations Committee," said Jones.

"He is very talented and I have full confidence in his ability to manage the day-to-day operations of the association as the Board of Directors goes through the process of selecting a new president."
