NBAA Will Offer Owners, Pilots, LBA Education Seminars

21 Sessions Focus On The Light Business Airplane Sector

There will be plenty of information for the owners and operators of Light Business Airplanes at this year's NBAA Annual Meeting and Convention, set for October 20th-22nd in Orlando. The problem may be getting to all the sessions that look interesting.

The sessions begin on Wednesday, kicking off with "Putting Business Aviation to Work for Your Travel Needs - NBAA Program for Those Considering Business Aviation as an Option" at 0800. The session is open to companies that do not currently own or operate a business airplane. It is designed to be a high-level, introductory, no sales-pitch, experience-driven format with time for audience interaction with the panel of experts. The program will review General Aviation options that are available, and provide tools that prospective aircraft owners can use when deciding upon the purchase or lease of an airplane.

For those that already own or use an airplane for business, you can learn about stepping up to a jet, or get legal risk management and asset protection information for aviators at 0830.  1030 offers an opportunity to learn more about flying GPS and WAAS approaches, or a session about medical certification issues.

Wednesday afternoon's offerings range from "Survival Tactics for Single Pilot IFR" to sessions on FAR's as they relate to business aviation, tax benefits, and NEXRAD airborne radar.

On Thursday, attendees can choose from sessions on record keeping (because no job is finished until the paperwork's done), flight and fuel planning, and safety management for small flight department operators.

Cessna will hold a mid-morning 'Single-Pilot Safety Standown', which will draw upon the actual experiences of pilots, providing an emphasis on peer-to-peer information sharing. Safety-themed sessions will focus on emerging technologies in cockpit information and decision-support systems to enhance operational safety, best practices for on-the-ground operations, and planning for flights outside the continental U.S. Pre-registration is required for the Safety Standown, as space is limited.

Other morning sessions include Flying Green, and Choosing the Best Airplane For Your Business Needs. In the afternoon, learn about the latest in cockpit "Gizmos and Gadgets", or take in a seminar on how to choose a maintenance company.

NBAA offers a full rundown of the sessions for LBA owners and operators on the annual meeting website, along with all the other activities planned for the show. ANN hopes to see you there.
