US Air Race Announces Official Route For 2005 Event

A Real Taste Of The South!

Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina. If you decide to join the US Air Race this year, that's the way you'll go. The US Air Race has set the start and finish locations and the route for the 2005 National Cross Country Air Races. Three events are scheduled and pilots my enter any or all of these races. The race will start is Mesquite Metro Airport, Mesquite, TX, with registration opening on September 23, 2005.

The Cowhand 300, September 25, will start and finish at Mesquite airport. That's also the location of the 1800-Mile Marion Jayne Air Race.

Pilots take off September 26 on the 1800 mile route with official stops at:

  • Miami, Oklahoma
  • Tunica,Mississippi
  • Pascagoula, Mississippi
  • Gadsden, Alabama
  • Waycross, Georgia
  • Monroe, North Carolina

Monroe Municipal Airport will also be the start/finish for the Carolinas 300 on September 29. The course not only provides a challenge for all your piloting skills, but US Air Race organizers promise the utmost in southern hospitality.
