Investigators Find No DNA Link To DB Cooper

Necktie Did Not Provide A Genetic Match

A necktie that was said to have belonged to the person calling himself D.B. Cooper has not produced definitive evidence that L.D. Cooper was the infamous hijacker.

USA Today reports that three DNA samples were found on the tie, but none could definitely be associated with the hijacker. The tie was brought to the attention of the FBI by Marla Cooper, who says L.D. Cooper, aka D.B. Cooper, was her uncle. She said he died several years ago, but when she was 8 years old, she overheard her uncles discussing a hijacking and getting "rich" at the time of the incident.

Cooper's mother has corroborated parts of her story, but none of the items offered to the FBI, including a guitar strap Ms. Cooper says was her uncle's, have yielded conclusive evidence that he has finally been identified.
