Robinson Heli: 2005 Was A REALLY Good Year

Robinson Sets New Helicopter Sales Record

In 2005 Robinson manufactured 806 new helicopters which is the most civil helicopters ever produced in one year, by any individual company. The previous record of civil helicopters manufactured in one year, was set by Bell Helicopters in 1980.

Bell sold 780 total helicopters that year, 550 of which were in the 206 series. Robinson also broke that record by completing 563 civil helicopters of the R44 Raven series in 2005. In addition, the company delivered 243 new R22s.

“I am pleased with our accomplishments in 2005,” said Frank Robinson.

“I hope this year will be as good as, or better than last year.” The increasing Robinson sales are expected to continue as the Raven II maintains its popularity and has added some new options including air conditioning for comfort in hot climates and a pilot side console for pilot convenience and safety.
