Latest Radio From XCOM Fits In Standard Panel Rack Space

New Keypad System Allows Direct Frequency Input

An Australian manufacturer of compact VHF aircraft radios designed for LSA, sport aircraft and gliders known for their 2.25-inch radios has "moved into the mainstream" with a new model.

XCOM Avionics has designed their new radio to fit a standard rack size panel. The new XCOM VHF radio is only 1.5 inches deep allowing it to fit into the shallowest of instrument panels.

Standard with dual watch which was introduced by XCOM almost 10 years ago it is still regarded as the industry's best dual watch system, large OLED display allows pilots with ageing eyes to read the frequencies without problems and probably the single biggest feature is keypad frequency entry. The company says this prevents fumbling around with little knobs to enter frequencies.

In addition, the new radio features integrated VOX intercom, 99 memory channels and many other features.

The new radio will be on display at AirVenture Oshkosh this week. First customer deliveries are planned in September 2013.
