Battle Creek Exec Airport's WACO Kitchen Offers Extended Dining Hours

Offers Locally Sourced, Organic Ingredients

Due to what has been reported as 'high demand' for the WACO Kitchen experience, the Battle Creek restaurant will now be offering extended hours and a weekend breakfast menu just in time for Mother’s Day.

In addition to the current Monday through Friday hours, WACO Kitchen will be adding weekend and breakfast services starting Saturday, May 8. Enjoy a unique twist of breakfast specialties from 7 am to 11 am on Saturdays, and 7 am to 2 pm on Sundays. Weekday menu selections will also be available on Saturdays 11 am to 6 pm.

WACO Kitchen at Battle Creek Executive Airport (KBTL) offers locally sourced, organic ingredients and nutritious meals that are freshly prepared by internationally trained chefs. Second-story accommodation provides panoramic views of runway 5L/23R and large observation windows into WACO Aircraft’s production and service facilities.

The creation of WACO Kitchen stemmed from owner Dieter Morszeck and CEO Sven Lepschy - passionate aviation enthusiasts that are motivated by adding value to WACO employees, Battle Creek neighbors, and the aviation community. WACO Kitchen opened to the public on January 4, 2021 and has been 'radically successful' since.

“Everybody is very happy to have something fresh and new in Battle Creek” says Chef Randall Nash, “The whole airport vibe is just different – we’ve had people come in who hear ‘restaurant’ and ‘airport’ and whatever vision they have in their heads is completely different when they walk in here. It’s a lot more elegant, a lot more comfortable. The air is open, you can see and hear the planes. It’s a totally different experience, unlike anything else.”

As summer approaches, WACO Kitchen will be looking to further extend their evening hours. Pilots can take full advantage of the WACO Kitchen experience and all of the amenities that the main floor FBO has to offer. Upon arrival, pilots will enjoy complimentary aircraft tie-downs, private restrooms with showers, pilot lounge and snooze room, and a free meal with fuel fill-up.

“Anything that we can source locally, we try to do. It gives us peace of mind to know that we’re working with the freshest possible product; knowing that our guests are eating the freshest as well” says Chef Nash.

The year-round menu at WACO Kitchen is comprised of five main dishes, breakfast options, unique beverages, and dessert. A seasonal menu is also available to ensure the use of fresh, in-season ingredients while offering a unique variety of options each time you visit.

“When people come to our restaurant, they have an experience” says CEO, Sven Lepschy, “Just from the moment they walk in from the friendliness and professionalism of our staff, to the food, but also the adventure to look out the window and see airplanes taking off and taxiing. We are a destination.”
