American Corporate Airport Partners Nabs Rocky Mountain Metro Addition

Denver/Boulder Neighbor to See 30-Acre Expansion for Increased Activity

American Corporate Airport Partners (ACAP) has signed a long-term lease with Jefferson County, Colorado for the development of 30 acres near Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC).

The spot is located in Broomfield, Colorado, a town 15 miles north of downtown Denver and 14 miles south of Boulder. The 30-acre span will help the strategically located airport in its expansion, leveraging its placement near one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country.

Thomas Bosco, ACAP CEO said construction along the southwestern edge of the airport will add a modern hangar and ramp facilities to “accommodate high-end business and industrial aviation tenants such as private charter airlines, maintenance repair organizations (MROs), and corporate users”. In starting the project, Jefferson County personnel were clear that things would have to stay environmentally sound and neighborly as they could. ACAP was able to point to their previous work revamping a multi-tenant hangar complex at San Antonio International Airport to bear out some of their plans for BJC. Their own in-house design and financing helps to guarantee a certain consistency to frazzled stakeholders wary of big talkers. Airport manager Paul Anslow said

Jefferson County Commissioner Tracy Kraft-Tharp expressed her enthusiasm for the project, describing it as “responsible airport development". She said it will quickly "bring jobs and opportunity to the county’s residents and businesses while remaining sensitive to the quality of life of our citizens.”

“While executing the BJC ground lease is an exciting and significant first step, ACAP’s focus is now to deliver build-to-suit facilities for our tenants on-time and on-budget,” said ACAP’s Chief Development Officer Ronan Byrne.

Once complete, the BJC airport project is expected to generate 120 permanent skilled jobs, with a spread of aircraft technicians, engineers, and trainers. 275 Additional office workers will add up to bring about $5 million in annual labor income and $12 million in sales and economic activity.
