Quality Avionics In Brisbane Integrates 1090ES ADS-B Out Solution With G1000 To Ensure Regulatory Compliance For Fiji-Based Operator
Fiji's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAF) has certified ADS-B Out installation in a 2013 Garmin G1000-equipped Cessna Grand Caravan 208B to enable a Fiji-based customer to meet an imminent ADS-B Out equipage deadlines, according to FreeFlight Systems.
The ADS-B Out solution certified by the CAAF includes a high-integrity GPS WAAS position source and an ADS-B rule-compliant Mode S transponder integrated with the G1000. It ensures that the aircraft complies with country’s Dec. 31, 2014 ADS-B equipage deadline. The aircraft is operated by Air Wakaya, which transports customers from Nadi International Airport to the private Wakaya Club & Spa Resort.
Quality Avionics is a family owned and operated business providing fixed and rotary wing avionics support in maintenance, service and repairs in both new and second-hand product sales. Based at Archerfield airport in Brisbane, the company has an established client base throughout Australia and overseas, maintaining and supporting airline and general aviation clients in the Pacific Rim.
“The compatibility and flexibility of the FreeFlight Systems solution enabled us to create a very timely and highly cost-effective certified ADS-B installation for Air Wakaya,” said Quality Avionics Manager Russell Kelly. “The equipage mandate is fast approaching so it was imperative that our client be able to serve its own customers. The installation itself was quite straightforward and integrated nicely with the G1000 flight deck.”
“Quality Avionics’ ADS-B Out installation in the Caravan is a great example of the customer-centric solutions that we can provide,” said Tim Taylor, CEO of FreeFlight Systems. “It highlights the performance, compatibility and flexibility of our systems to meet regulatory mandates and add capability in a wide variety of aircraft and flying environments.”
