Boeing Plans To Show Off A Little At Dubai

Worldliner, Dreamliner, Rotorcraft and Tanker Among Aircraft In Spotlight

Fresh from its record-breaking flight last week, the Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner will lead Boeing's team to the United Arab Emirates for the ninth biennial Dubai Air Show, which begins Sunday.

"Boeing is coming to Dubai with terrific momentum across the enterprise and a strong commitment to helping its Middle East customers, partners and communities succeed," said Tod Hullin, Boeing senior vice president, Communications.

"The Middle East is very important to Boeing," said Hullin. "That is why we have based a new Boeing president in Saudi Arabia, opened a regional office in Dubai, strengthened community & education partnerships across the region, and made several other key executive appointments in the region."

In addition to the long-legged triple-seven, Boeing will also display customer Royal Jet's BBJ, and the popular new 787 Dreamliner will be showcased at the Boeing exhibit, according to a company release.

On the defense industry front, Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems will showcase the AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook, C-17 Globemaster III, and the newly-delivered B767 Tanker Transport, currently in service with the Italian Air Force, among other platforms.

The 2005 Dubai Air Show runs from Nov. 20 through the 24th.
