BoomBeam Lights Approved For The Business Jets
The FAA has approved an STC for the installation of LoPresti BoomBeam lights on Gulfstream large-cabin aircraft.
The technology is called HID (High-Intensity Discharge) ... also known as BoomBeam. The system provides the flight crew with a greatly extended visual range adding safety to your aircraft, according to the company, and upgrades the stock incandescent or LED landing and taxi lights.
The company says the lighting provides the following features:
- Greatly extended visual range that provides the flight crew with over 4000-foot field of view.
- Safer Night Time Operations either in the air or on the ground. The flight crew will be able to see the entire runway on final approach. BoomBeams are great if you operate where deer or other wildlife are a concern or at airports where the runways, taxiways or ramps are not well lit or in poor visibility conditions.
- Safer Daytime Operations - Aircraft equipped with BoomBeams can be seen from distances greater than 25 miles during the day and can be flashed with the existing Pulse Light system.
- Lower operating temperatures- BoomBeams have much lower operating temperatures and will never craze or damage a landing light lens.
- BoomBeam Color Temperature is close to the color temperature of sunlight improving visibility.
- Lower current draw than standard Lighting Systems
- 5000 hour/5 year warranty
"The STC adds the reliability of and HID and as well added redundancy by taking your current 2 landing lights up to a 6 HID landing lights. Thus giving increased redundancy, safety, and reliability," said David LoPresti, VP Sales at LoPresti Aviation, in a news release posted on LinkedIn.
LoPresti is offering introductory pricing on our large cabin Gulfstream BoomBeam kits. The Gulfstream wing kit lists for $29,995 and the nose gear taxi light system lists for $16,995. If the kits are purchased prior to September 15, 2016, LoPresti will provide the nose gear taxi light system at no additional cost, saving customers $16,995, according to the release.
