Velocity Aircraft Receives Multi-Plane Order

Company Says XL-5 Sales Momentum Is Building

High-performance homebuilt aircraft producer Velocity Aircraft announced Tuesday a new purchase order of 20 Velocity XL-5 aircraft. The announcement is the first major sales contract secured by Sebastian, FL-based Velocity, Inc., since its April 2008 acquisition by Rocket Racing Composites Corp., a division within the parent company for the Rocket Racing League.

Velocity's XL-5 airframe is the same airframe being used for the Rocket Racing League's Rocket Racers. The Velocity XL-5 is an easy to build, easy to fly, true high performance airplane with the ability to make 1000 NM + cross country trips while carrying up to five people and baggage in comfort -- at speeds in excess of 200 mph.

"This 20-plane order is the culmination of six months of hard work by the Velocity team," said Scott Baker, president of Velocity, Inc. "Since the acquisition by Rocket Racing Composite Corp., there has been a lot of interest and feedback from the public in Velocity, Inc. contributing to many of the technology advances that are planned for the Rocket Racer models. These new developments in performance and comfort benefit Velocity owners who use their aircraft for personal and business travel."

Velocity Aircraft has delivered over 675-Velocity aircraft kits to customers worldwide. Velocity Aircraft offers two cabin models with a wide range of available options.

The company adds it is currently developing and designing two new models to be introduced in 2009.
