First Bombardier Global 5000 Enters Service

Now Flying For Corporate Operator In The Mideast

Bombardier Aerospace says it's reached an important milestone with the entry into service of the first completed Bombardier Global 5000 business jet. The aircraft departed Montreal on Monday, April 18, 2005 and is now in service with a corporate operator based in the Middle East.

Launched in February 2002, the new Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft combines, under certain operating conditions, a top cruise speed of Mach 0.89 and a 4,800-nautical-mile (8,889-km) range at Mach 0.85, both best in-class, as well as the most advanced business jet cabin in corporate aviation, featuring the first Ethernet-based Air Show 21 application.

The operator, who chose the aircraft because of its outstanding speed, superior systems and superb cabin, plans to fly its new Bombardier Global 5000 on both transcontinental and intercontinental missions, mostly throughout Asia and Europe. A Bombardier support team will be based at the operator's home base to ensure a smooth entry into service.

"The Bombardier Global 5000 business jet has arrived -- and it will elevate intercontinental, high-speed travel to a new level," stated Duncan Koerbel, vice-president and general manager, Global Product Line. "The Global 5000 aircraft offers operators unprecedented flexibility and an exciting combination of performance and cabin productivity that is unique in its category."

The milestone delivery dovetails with growing worldwide sales momentum. In the past month, Bombardier has announced three new orders led by launch customers based in New Zealand, Brazil and Honduras. As of March 2005, Bombardier had delivered a total of nine green, or unfinished, Global 5000 aircraft into completion.
