Lancair Announces Significant Hiring Increase

Board Approves New Investment to Meet Aircraft Order Demand

The Lancair Company announced this week that it will hire an additional 130 employees at it’s Bend Municipal Airport facility in Oregon between now and mid-summer. The company has been ramping up its production rate over the past year, with employment currently surpassing 400.

Backlog of its Columbia 350 and Columbia 400 certified aircraft has continued to grow, according to company executives and the need to expand required an additional investment. This investment has been confirmed by the company’s board of directors.

Building expansion as well as personnel increases have already begun. After delivering more than 190 Columbia 300s, 350s and 400s since initial certification of the Columbia 300 in 1998, the company plans on delivering an additional 190 aircraft this year alone.

"Our customers consider the Columbia line of certified aircraft to be the premier choice in quality, performance and safety," said The Lancair Company President Bing Lantis. "This reputation is the result of a strong, dedicated team of personnel at the factory and we are now at the point of bringing in even more people to help us reach the next level of production."

The company is hiring qualified people for such functions as liaison engineering, tooling & mold making, quality assurance, inventory, customer support, flight line services, avionics & wiring, assembly, paint and finish, upholstery, composites lay-up, composites trim, and composites bonding.
